Introduction to Educator Performance Evaluation Regulations
The 100-level course offered at the BPS Summer PD Institute provides an introduction to the 5-step cycle and activities for unpacking the rubric, self-assessment, and analysis of goals.
Activity 1 asks educators to identify and compare changes in language across performance levels in the Rubric of Effective Teaching.
Activity 2 helps educators experience an abbreviated version of the self-assessment process that each educator must complete.
Activity 3 gives educators an opportunity to evaluate sample SMART goals and revise them for content.

The 200-level course prepares teachers to conduct a thorough and meaningful self-assessment, and identify possible goal topics.
